An attempt to humorously relate the details of my unremarkable life, while simultaniously amusing myself on the internet.

Home Alone

I have decided to start a second blog for myself. Many people (well, 4 that I can think of) would wonder why, considering I don't update my other blog very often. Well, my other blog involves a fair amount of creative writing, which is quite entertaining, but difficult to crank out unless I'm in the right frame of mind at the right time. So, this blog is for when I don't feel particularly creative.

It is the Monday after Thanksgiving, and I have been home by myself since noon last Wednesday. I work in retail (craft store, to be precise), which means I can only get the day after Thanksgiving off if I'm dead. The rest of my family had no such restrictions on them, and went to Idaho to see our best friends. They will get back sometime tonight.

Despite numerous offers from people I know, asking me over to their house for Thanksgiving, I chose to remain at home by myself. I don't get to be alone very often, and I occasionally enjoy revelling in it.

However, I've discovered it's not so great at night. And my stated intention of watching a ton of rented movies wasn't helping. I picked a "suspense" for the first one, thinking "It's suspense, not horror, it won't be scary, I'll be fine!" Two hours and several dis-membered bodies later, I'm a twitching bundle of nerves, backed into the corner of an apartment with every light turned on, and brandishing a sword. A real sword. Sure, it's dull, but it'll hurt like mad if I whop you in the head with it. I didn't have a baseball bat.

But I watched something else for a while, and finally was able to calm down enough to turn off all of the lights and go to bed. The other nights, I was more careful of my movie choices.

In the past 5 days, I've watched 11 movies. Most of them were pretty good. I particularly liked "11:14" and "The Thirteenth Floor". I've eaten a box of Stove Top Stuffing, a frozen turkey roast, half of a pumpkin pie, half of a cheese ball, Hamburger Helper, soup, a bottle of Martinelli's, and I've nearly polished off a gallon of orange juice.

And now I'm thinking about the rest of the pie.........

Well, must go! I shall try to write more frequently on this site!
